Najafinejad also announced the preparation of 2,500 special ID cards for weavers in the city and said that a preliminary study plan for the registration of kilims and its various branches in the city has been prepared and steps have been taken to register this national monument in the name of the city.
He expressed hope that the work would soon be registered in the name of Baft County, and that its ownership would be piloted in the villages of Googhar, Bidkarduyeh and Fathabad, with the creation of group workshops to market it effectively. Baft city has 15,000 kilim weavers, whose weaving effort is for women, and the profits go to brokers and carpet exporters. The weaving of kilim weaving dates back to more than 2 to 3 thousand years ago.
