Lack of attention to the handmade carpet industry in Kurdistan
The governor of Kurdistan expressed concern about the lack of attention to the carpet industry in Kurdistan and said: Unfortunately, despite the suitable beds and talented and capable weavers in the province, we are still witnessing disruption in the market for the production and supply of hand-woven carpets in Kurdistan.
Alireza Shahbazi in a meeting with the head of the National Carpet Center of Iran in Sanandaj said: Kurdistan has a long history in the field of hand-woven carpet production in the country and in the past has been one of the important centers for the production of this product.
He added: Kurdistan weavers have always shown the cultural richness of the province inspired by their original designs and designs.
Shahbazi continued: the use of beautiful colors and the use of natural raw materials and the variety of designs in accordance with different climatic regions of the province are the prominent features of Kurdistan handmade carpets.
The governor of Kurdistan stressed the need to solve the problems of carpet weavers in the province and said: to achieve a stable situation in the carpet industry of the province, paying attention to the basic needs and providing the facilities needed by the prosperous weavers of this sector should be a priority in the plans of carpet managers.
Referring to the organization of weavers in the carpet production sector of the province, he said: Currently, there are more than 90,000 weavers in the province, and it is necessary to increase the number of these people to many times the current statistics with coherent planning in the future. Shahbazi pointed to the more accurate implementation of the insurance plan for Kurdistan hand-woven carpet weavers and added: In this regard, with the cooperation of the Social Security Organization, the insurance plan for carpet weavers should continue more rapidly.
The governor of Kurdistan stated: The growth of the province’s carpet industry will not be realized without considering the presence of the private sector in this field, and in this regard, the necessary ground has been prepared for the presence of private sector investors in the province.
He stressed the need to improve the quality of hand-woven carpets in the province and said: to be active in the country’s carpet markets, it is necessary to pay attention to the quality of hand-woven carpets.
Also, the governor of Kurdistan, in a meeting with the elites and members of the provincial office of the National Elite Foundation of Kurdistan in Sanandaj, said: In order to strengthen the presence of elites in the province’s research fields, the necessary credit for commercializing the inventions of Kurdish elites will be provided.
He stated: There are no restrictions in order to support the plans and inventions of scientific elites and all managers of government agencies in the province are obliged to cooperate with the National Elite Foundation. Shahbazi continued: Due to the need for comprehensive development of the presence of elites to meet the scientific and research needs of the executive apparatus and faster implementation of development projects is necessary and these talents should be used properly. In this meeting, Rahmatollah Mirzaei, the head of the provincial office of the National Elite Foundation of Kurdistan Province, stated: Considering the beginning of the work of the National Elite Foundation of Kurdistan, commercialization of inventions and inventions of inventors is a priority on the agenda and all managers of the province are expected. They are going to accompany and cooperate with the foundation in this field.
He said: Kurdistan is one of the least privileged regions of the country and it is necessary to use the capabilities of elite people in order to meet the needs of the people and also provide better service to them to plan to implement this policy, allocate special funds. In addition to coordination and cooperation between different government agencies, it is necessary.
Mirzaei pointed out: Despite financial and material constraints and also the lack of necessary support from government agencies and organizations, but now a large number of young people in Kurdistan province have succeeded in registering their inventions in the national and international arenas, which we hope with the launch of the National Foundation. The elites in the province can make the necessary plans in order to increase the support of this group and organize them.
