Launch of the virtual handicraft market of East Azerbaijan
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of East Azerbaijan announced the launch of a virtual market for handicrafts with a focus on education, introduction and exchange of works of art in the province.
Ahmad Hamzehzadeh said: Last year, 30 handicrafts markets were held in the province, and this year, due to the outbreak of Covid-19 virus and the impossibility of holding face-to-face handicraft exhibitions this year, the online marketplace focuses on introducing, teaching and exchanging works of art.
It is launching so that the capable artists of the province can take advantage of the virtual space and be able to direct their activities and direct supply of goods in the national and international arenas to the interested parties, in order to provide the necessary conditions for artists to continue their activities.
He pointed out that one of the most important goals of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage is always to develop and preserve the handicrafts and art of the province, he continued: The field of teaching handicrafts and art is one of the most important parts that are on the agenda every year. The General Administration is located, so that in the last one year, nearly 3000 thousand people in the province have been trained by the handicrafts educational centers under the auspices of the General Administration, of which 2696 are related to students in the province and 225 are related to its employees. It is the field that participated in the enrollment courses.
Hamzehzadeh further said: Continuous and effective activity of handicraft production units has had a significant impact on the province’s economic prosperity, so that during 2019, 1083 individual production licenses and 56 workshop production licenses were issued by the province’s handicrafts deputy in order to provide a suitable platform for promotion. The level of production and economic prosperity of the province was in the hands of artists.
