Manufacture of handmade carpets in Bashagard city
Zahra Zahedi, head of the carpet department of Hormozgan Province’s Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, said: Two hundred and eight women from Bashagard are weaving handmade carpets.
He added: Since the beginning of the production of handmade carpets in 11 villages of Bashagard, 104 carpets have been woven so far.
The head of the carpet department of the Hormozgan Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: 6 million and 600 thousand tomans will be paid to each 6-meter carpet weaver.
Zahra Zahedi added: Woven carpets are sold in neighboring provinces.
300 people are working in Bashagard carpet workshops
Khalil Ghasemi said: Bashagard city is one of the potential points in Hormozgan province that good measures have been taken in the field of hand-woven carpet weaving by creating rural carpet workshops in the city and providing the necessary training.
Ghasemi stated: According to the strategic plan for the development of handmade carpets in the province, the employment of 300 people in Bashagard city this year is expected with the cooperation of Yazd Province Carpet Union and Hormozgan Province Donors.
The head of Hormozgan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: By the end of January of this year, 258 jobs will be created in this field.
He added: In the first phase, 34 six-meter carpets have been woven in 4 villages with the employment of 68 people, and the result of the efforts of this carpet weaver has been 204 square meters.
Ghasemi said: Today, we are at the service of the people of this city. 45 six-meter carpets will be opened in six villages of Bashagard with the employment of 90 weavers of Bashagard to produce 270 square meters of handmade carpets.
The head of Hormozgan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: The third phase of these workshops will start in November of this year, in which the 50-meter phase of the six-meter carpet will be inaugurated with the employment of 100 weavers and the production of 300 square meters of handmade carpets.
Ghasemi stated: 25 billion and 800 million Rials will be paid to the weavers of this city by the end of the year.
