Mazandaran has 45% of Iran’s rice production
Deputy of Economic Affairs Coordination of Mazandaran Governorate said: this province with about 214 thousand hectares of the first crop area, about 110 thousand hectares of the second crop and ratoon and with an annual production of about 1 million and 420 thousand tons of paddy accounts for 45% of the country’s rice production.
Hassan Kherianpour on the sidelines of the beginning of mechanized rice planting in Amol city stated: Along with all existing technical programs, the development of mechanized rice cultivation is one of the priorities of Mazandaran province.
He specified: in the current year, by using 4500 seedlings and providing payment facilities, it was planned to buy 300 new seedlings.
Mazandaran Governor’s Deputy for Economic Affairs Coordination pointed out: The area under mechanized rice cultivation in this province will be upgraded from the current 66,000 hectares to 100,000 hectares.
Kherianpour said: the complete commissioning of the rice export terminal, rehabilitation and dredging of about 800 Abandan in Mazandaran province, proper packaging and export development, its quantitative and qualitative improvement are among the other important programs of this province.
He reminded: in the year of the production leap, all government agencies, universities, agricultural organizations and dear farmers must plan and take action to fulfill this year’s slogan by using new technologies and scientific achievements.
