Mechanized transplanting of rice in 42,000 hectares of rice fields in Gilan
The director of agriculture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: so far, rice has been transplanted in 2.5 hectares of rice fields in Gilan.
Shaygan Adibi, pointing out that Gilan has 238,000 hectares of paddy lands, said: So far, rice has been transplanted in 2.5 hectares of these lands.
He pointed out that mechanized transplanting will reduce production costs and also reduce the range of rice production by rice farmers, he said: this year in 42 thousand hectares of paddy lands in Gilan rice transplanting will be done mechanized.
He continued: in this province, rice transplanting can be done mechanized in 80,000 hectares of paddy lands, which will be achieved by providing agricultural machinery and farmers’ efforts.
Adibi stated: Gilan is the first province in the country with the amount of mechanized transplanting and Rezvanshahr city is the first city of mechanized cultivation in Gilan with 80% mechanized transplanting in its rice fields.
The director of agriculture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization stated that the combined cultivation of fish and ducks can also play an important role in improving farmers’ incomes, noting that encouraging farmers to do so is one of the important goals of Gilan agriculture.
He added: A few precautions and avoidance of single products will ensure security and increase farmers’ economic income.
The director of agriculture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization, pointing out that the cultivation of hydrothermal fish and rice is done in the paddy fields of Gilan, emphasized: Farmers should be careful not to distract them from rice farming.
He added: Promoting rice production and increasing the yield of this product in Gilan is more important than any other product.
