Ali Fallah, director of the Bafgh Agricultural Jihad Extension Office, said: It is expected that more than 150 tons of onions will be harvested from Bafgh onion farms by the end of the harvest season.

Ali Fallah added: The area of onion cultivation in Bafgh is more than 5 hectares and about 200 farmers are working in this field.

He said: The onion of Bafgh region is of local and native type, which is called red onion, which is sweet and juicy and the yield of this product is 35 tons per hectare.

The director of the Bafgh Agricultural Jihad Extension Office stated: Onion planting in Bafgh is done in March and October, and the red onion harvest continues from mid-July to the end of summer.

He said: The farms of Mobarakeh village in Bafgh are one of the main farms producing red onions in this city, and the price of this onion at the place of harvest is about 1,200 tomans per kilo.
