More than 200,000 tons of dates are produced annually in Fars
The director of horticulture of Fars Jihad Agricultural Organization said: this province with the production of more than 200 thousand tons of dates and the area under cultivation of 32 thousand hectares has the second rank of production and the fourth rank of the area under cultivation of the country.
Majid Reza Pakari, pointing out that dates are produced in 19 cities of Fars, said: Shahani, Kabkab and Zahedi or Qasb are the main cultivars that are cultivated depending on different regions in this province.
According to him, in order to increase the quantity and quality of date production in Fars, the development of the commercial date variety in this province is on the agenda.
Pakari, branding and introduction of dates in and out of the country as the benefits of holding the exhibition and added: Introducing date cultivars and proper packaging, in addition to reducing waste and added value by providing exports, leads to proper currency valuation and economic prosperity. .
He stated that industry and agriculture are two interconnected and complementary categories, adding that if there are no industries, production alone does not have a special place and also currency and economic value are not created.
