More than 41% of hand carpet exports are in Iran
Maliheh Blouri, a member of the board of directors of the Tehran Handmade Carpet Manufacturers Union, said:
Currently, the amount of exports of handmade sales has decreased significantly compared to last year, so that this decrease is estimated at over 40%.
He added:
There are many reasons for the decline in exports in this area, the main reason for which can be considered the cut in subsidies that the government
paid to producers to participate in exhibitions and global markets; Because after the payment of this payment by the government,
many producers did not attend the exhibitions due to the high cost of this trip.
Blouri considered the confusion of money markets and liquidity in the world as another factor in reducing the export of handmade sales and said:
in addition to exports, the domestic sales of handmade carpet have also decreased, which is probably the main reason for changing people’s tastes.
He emphasized:
as the production of machine-made carpet increases daily, the sales of handmade carpet decrease, because machine-made carpet have also acted very powerfully in this field and have been able to attract countless customers with new designs and styles.
The export of Iranian handmade carpet in the first four months of this year compared to the same period in 1988 in terms of value and weight shows
