More than 650000 tons of pistachios are harvested

10% of the country’s non-oil exports are pistachios, said the director general of the pistachio office of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture.

120,000 tons of pistachios worth $ 500 million have been exported to 76 countries this year, which accounts for 10 percent of the country’s non-oil exports, Ghaibi told reporters.

Gheibi said that more than 650,000 tons of pistachios will be harvested this year, adding: This amount of product will be exported to Europe in 818 terminals and 6,000 processing workshops, and part of it.

The Director General of the Pistachio Office of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture described the plan to identify and control critical production points as an effective step for the healthy production of pistachios:
