More than 80% of Semnan carpets can be exported

The deputy head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of Semnan province announced the annual production of 18,000 square meters of handmade carpets in this province.

Mohammad Forouhar added: 12,000 square meters of carpets have been woven in the province since the beginning of the year.

He stated that 80 to 85% of the province’s carpet products can be exported and are exported through neighboring provinces: the main carpets of Shahroud region are mostly exported to Persian Gulf countries and carpets of Mahdishahr region are exported to European countries and the Persian Gulf.

The deputy head of the province’s Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said that the variety of colors, rhymes and textures is the most prominent feature of the province’s carpets and added: ) There are carpets in this province.

Forouhar stated: Due to the fact that the added value of handmade carpets and tablecloths is more than other handicrafts, most people turn to carpet weaving.

He said that the variety of colors, textures and designs in the province’s carpets is more than other handicrafts in the province such as kilim and jajim, he said: also the added value in handmade carpets, both at home and abroad is more than kilim and jajim .
