Nahavand is a major producer of coriander in Iran
Director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Nahavand city, stating that the world production of coriander is 220 thousand tons per year, announced: 12 thousand tons of coriander is produced in Iran per year, and Nahavand city allocates 10 thousand tons of this product due to favorable conditions. .
Hossein Kheradmand, pointing out that the importance of cultivating coriander as a water-deficient crop is obvious in drought and water crisis conditions, said: And the yield of the product has been registered as a model national farm in 1398 in Nahavand city.
He continued: 5,000 hectares of Nahavand agricultural lands have been cultivated with coriander and 2,000 people are directly and indirectly working in this field.
Kheradmand, stating that Nahavand coriander is known in the Middle East and even European countries and has become a global product, added: Nahavand city, despite having the highest area of ??cultivation, has the highest amount of coriander production in the country.
He said: Unfortunately, the lack of processing and packaging industries hinders development and progress in this area, despite the high capacity of the city, and the efforts of farmers go to the pockets of brokers.
