Valuable Iranian carpets and handicrafts have always been considered as an integral part of the life of the Iranian people. Of course, this attention also exists in other countries regarding Iranian carpets, and the reason is definitely to create a sense of intimacy in the home space, which is one of the characteristics of Iranian art.

Abdullah Ahrari, a member of the Iranian Carpet Scientific Association, stated: Neishabour is one of those high-density cities that has many villages with a significant population and has always been one of the centers of carpet production in Khorasan Razavi province.

He added: Among the honors of Neishabour carpet, we can mention three large cloth carpets of 7000, 5000 and 2800 meters, which are spread in the mosques of the Arab countries along the Persian Gulf; All three of these carpets are woven in the villages of Yousefabad, Baghshan, etc. in Neishabour.

The carpet researcher said: These large woven carpets woven in Neishabour are a source of pride for Iran, and this is because significant weavers are members of the Neishabour carpet community. In Neishabour city, at least 10,000 weavers are active in carpet weaving workshops, both centralized and decentralized, and produce carpets.

Ahrari continued: Neishabour has very large producers and most of the carpets used in Mashhad are woven in the villages of Neishabour, including Rigi village, Ardemeh village, Baghshan village and Ghadmagah new town.

Regarding Neishabour carpets, he said: The carpets of this region are largely woven in the style of Mashhad carpets and in terms of more color in the field of cream. Most carpets in this area are woven in sizes of 6 meters and above, and several villages of Neishabour are the center of production of large textile carpets; In these villages, weavers weave 18, 24 and sometimes 80 meter carpets in semi-concentrated workshops.

A member of the Iranian Carpet Scientific Association added about Neishabour carpet designs: Neishabour carpets are mostly woven in the designs of spraying and elastic bergamot, and the raw materials used for their weaving are mostly wool and silk. One of the threats against Neishabour carpets is that, unfortunately, some producers in this region use synthetic fibers to weave carpets, and in some villages of this city, weaving has become popular.

Ahrari stated: The issue of non-knitting has greatly affected the officials in this field. Manufacturers, exporters of carpets in the province, as well as the city union, are following up on this issue, so that, God willing, this disaster will not develop for other carpet weavers in other areas, and this problem will be solved in the same villages as well.

He explained about the knot used by carpet weavers in Neishabour: We can mention a kind of Persian or asymmetrical knot that some carpets are woven in two ways. The head of Neishabour carpets is of separate type; This means that the carpet is sewn to it after weaving. Some Neishabour carpets are dyed naturally and some other manufacturers use chemical dyes in combination with natural dyes to dye the carpets.

The carpet researcher continued: If we want to talk about the big producers of Neishabour carpets, we should mention Mr. Fakhri, Mr. Hajiabadi, Mr. Aliabadi and the rural carpet cooperative, all of whom are producers of high quality carpets.

Ahrari stated: The main producers of Neishabour carpets are located in Mashhad. In particular, Mr. Bagheri and Fakoor have been very influential in the field of carpet design in this region.

Regarding the difference between Neishabour carpet and Kashmar carpet, he explained: The difference between carpet design in Neishabour and Kashmar city is that the work is done as an employer and single weavers have very little activity in this city. The work of carpet weaving in Neishabour is such that the employer provides all the raw materials and production facilities to the weavers and the weavers receive their wages after weaving the carpet.

A member of the Iranian Carpet Scientific Association said: In my opinion, the said method is the best method for the weaver, producer and the national economy, and for this reason, when the employer prepares the raw materials and the plan, he must have thought of selling and selling the carpet sales channel. Also has.

Ahrari reminded: Neishabour is one of the cities whose weavers’ wages are higher than other areas of the province, competition between employers is more serious and employers are more sensitive to their weavers. Of course, it goes without saying that the weavers of this city are very professional and weaving is one of their main occupations.

He added: Neishabour is also one of the cities in which carpet weaving complexes have a long history. In Rigi village, for example, about 200 weavers are professionally weaving carpets for carpet complexes all year round.

The carpet researcher continued: It should be noted that the work in carpet weaving complexes is done in a centralized and directed manner, and through professional work, the designs and patterns that are used for weaving are given full importance. Of course, carpet weaving in Neishabour has a high added value and the producers and weavers are all satisfied; Especially in these days when the carpet market is a little better than in other times.
