Onions are exported to the south of Kerman
The head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Southern Kerman Province announced the export of onions from the southern region of Kerman, presenting an incentive package from the government to exporters.
Saeed Barkhouri, the head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of the south of Kerman province, said: Currently, the export of onions in the southern region of Kerman is being done by presenting an incentive package for exporters.
He announced the decision to export onions in line with government policies to support the agricultural sector.
Barkhouri announced the granting of an incentive package by the government for the export of onion products and said: the government pays 500 tomans to the exporter for each kilogram of onion export as an incentive package.
He pointed to the current price of onions in the market and said: Due to the quality of the type of onion, the price of this product is sold at the farm up to 2,400 tomans and more.
The head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Kerman announced that the most expensive type of this product is Minerva white onion and the highest amount of onion in South Kerman was white.
He stated that the total amount of onion cultivation in the first and second projects of the southern region of Kerman is 14,000 hectares and announced that more than 600,000 tons are expected to be harvested in these cultivation shifts.
Barkhouri, stating that the onion harvest of the first project in the southern region of Kerman began on November 11 this year, said: the onion harvest of the second project will continue until the end of May next year.
He announced the harvest of more than 40% of the first plan onion in the south of Kerman province and announced the area under onion cultivation of the first plan as 9,500 hectares and the second plan as 4,500 hectares.
Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Kerman, independent of the center of the province, covers seven cities.
