Saeed Assachi, Vice President of Isfahan Handmade Carpet Union, stated: Isfahan Province is known as the three leading provinces in the country’s handmade carpet production industry and so far many facilities have been provided for the development of this industry. Foreign handmade carpets produced in Isfahan province to foreign countries such as Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Germany, China and the UAE.
He added: “More than 5,450 people in Isfahan province are working in the field of handmade carpet industry, and this is why we can take good steps in the field of expanding job creation in this field.”
The Vice President of Isfahan Handmade Carpet Union continued: “Currently, there are more than 10 handmade carpet production workshops in Isfahan Province, and we are trying to develop these units with the necessary facilities and support from the executive bodies.”
Asachi said: the amount of handmade carpets produced in Isfahan province is increasing annually and this amount of production has reached more than 20,000 handmade carpets last year.
He added: “Fortunately, with the necessary support provided by the relevant departments of the province to expand the handmade carpet production industry in the province, we have been able to create this industry in many cities of the province.”
The Vice President of Isfahan Handmade Carpet Union reminded: So far, this industry has been created in many cities of the province such as Kashan, Fereydunshahr, Tiran and Kron and Natanz and has caused many jobs.
Asachi added: “So far, many meetings have been held on removing barriers to the production of handmade carpets in Isfahan province, and finally we have achieved the desired results.”
He said: “Currently, the main mission of the Isfahan Handmade Carpet Union is to supply the required materials, including cotton and silk, for the handmade carpet production workshops of Isfahan Province.”
Asachi reminded: the lack of prevention of uncontrolled import has caused many items of raw materials such as poor quality silk to enter the handmade carpet production workshops of Isfahan province, so that the quality level of handmade carpets in the province is slightly reduced.
He said: “It is possible to prevent the uncontrolled import of low quality raw materials into the country by creating accurate and correct supervision, and to strengthen and develop this important industry in Isfahan province.”
