The director of horticulture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: Gilan Echium amoenum has found a good place in foreign markets and the countries bordering the Persian Gulf and Vietnam are important customers of this product in the province.

Manouchehr Parsafar, pointing out that 880 hectares of land in Gilan is dedicated to the cultivation of Echium amoenum, said: Echium amoenum is the most important medicinal plant cultivated in Gilan and due to its good marketability, its cultivation area has increased compared to last year.

He added: Rudsar has the highest area of Echium amoenum cultivation in Gilan and is the center of production of this product in the province.

Parsafar, stating that more than 6,000 farmers are active in the production of Echium amoenum in Gilan, continued: Echium amoenum harvest has begun in May this year and it is expected that by mid-summer this year, 3900 tons of Echium amoenum flowers worth more than 79 billion tomans To harvest.

The director of horticulture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: Of course, the residents of summer areas and some tourists also harvest a large amount of Echium amoenum flowers annually, which is not included in the production statistics.

He noted: Echium amoenum has opened its place among global markets and currently the Persian Gulf, Vietnam and China are important customers of Gilan Echium amoenum.

Parsafar, stating that Echium amoenum is also welcomed by customers in the markets in the province, clarified: the farmers have welcomed the cultivation of this good product due to the income and high efficiency of this medicinal plant.
