Pistachio harvest begins in Sabzevar
Engineer Mohammad Hosseini Abadi – Director of Sabzevar Agricultural Jihad said: 1,940 hectares of pistachio orchards in this city are fertile and 1,910 hectares are infertile.
He added: With an average yield of 1,200 kg per hectare, it is predicted that we will have 23,000 tons of dried pistachio production, which shows a 30% increase compared to last year.
He stated that the reason was related to the 70% increase in the area of ??fertile pistachio orchards in the city.
Hosseinabadi added: This city has two active units of pistachio recording terminal, which due to the increase in the area under cultivation of this product, two other units of pistachio recording terminal are needed.
He added: To prevent the spread of aflatoxin, pistachio growers are advised to harvest pistachios 10 days earlier so that the aflatoxin fungus does not penetrate into the pistachio.
It is worth mentioning that Sabzevar city is one of the potential points for pistachio production and has 3,850 hectares of pistachio orchards.
