Planning to increase peanut production per unit area
The director of Astana Ashrafieh Agricultural Jihad said: we have a plan to increase the production of peanuts per unit area in this city.
Hamid Soleimani, stating that the cultivation of peanuts in the almond fields of this city is underway, said: 5000 almond farmers are working in Astana Ashrafieh city.
He added: Astana is the center of peanut production in the country and even some peanuts produced in other regions are sold under the name of Astana.
Director of Astana Agricultural Jihad, stating that an average of 12,000 tons of fresh peanut cocoons are produced annually in this city, noted: We plan to increase the production of this product per unit area.
Soleimani called the planting of mechanized peanut seedlings one of the ways to increase the quantity and quality of this product and continued: next week, the planting of this product will be done as a model in a thousand square meters of land in this city.
He specified: Astana Ashrafieh city has 2500 hectares of peanut orchards and in these orchards, high quality almonds are produced and entered the market.
The director of Astana Ashrafieh Agricultural Jihad stated: Due to the favorable weather conditions, it is predicted that peanuts will be harvested from the gardens of this city this year more than last year.
Noting that the sale of Astana peanuts has a good market, he said: This year, some farmers started cultivating peanuts from the lands near their unused rural house.
Soleimani said: Currently, peanuts are often consumed in the form of nuts, and in some cases, peanut butter and butter are traditionally taken from it.
He added: Astana peanuts, due to their very good taste, in addition to provincial consumption, are usually taken as souvenirs to other provinces.
