Saeed Haidarpour announced the area under rice cultivation in this city as 51 hectares this year and said: this year, a total of more than 100 tons of white rice was produced in this city.
According to Haidarpour, last year 80 hectares of rice were cultivated in West Gilan city and a total of 140 to 150 tons of rice was produced in this city and the average production of white rice in this city was about 2 tons per hectare.

He then stated that the rice cultivar produced in this city is Anbarbo, and said: This local cultivar has a pleasant aroma, taste and smell and is considered. A large part of the produced rice is consumed by the people of the city and the surplus is sent to the center of the province.
According to Haidarpour, rice harvest in this city started in mid-September and continued until the end of October.
