Soleimani, director of Ferdows Agricultural Jihad, pointing out that this year the area under saffron cultivation in Ferdows is 3,100 hectares, said: It is expected that about 11 tons of dry saffron will be harvested from this area this year.

He said that last year about 13 tons of dry saffron was harvested from about 3,000 hectares under cultivation, adding: This year, saffron production in Ferdows has decreased by about 20%.

Soleimani stated: There are about 5,000 saffron farmers in Ferdows city.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Ferdows city stated: 90% of the saffron produced in this city is exported and 10% of it reaches domestic consumption.

He specified: Saffron harvest from the farms of Ferdows city will start in the second half of November and will continue until the beginning of December.

Soleimani continued: saffron onion planting in this city will be done in October.
