Prediction of harvesting 3600 tons of walnuts from Asadabad orchards
The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Asadabad city announced the forecast of harvesting more than 3,600 tons of walnuts from the orchards of this city.
Socrates Birang stated: Assadabad city has 1250 hectares of walnut orchards, which on average 3 to 4 tons of walnut orchards can be harvested from each hectare.
He stated that most of Asadabad walnut orchards are located in the villages of Molhamdareh, Khondab and scattered in Chahardoli and Keliai areas, and specified: Currently, approximately 800 out of 3,000 Asadabad orchardists are walnut orchardists.
Referring to the high quality of the city’s walnuts, Birang added: The walnut gardeners of the city export a part of the product for sale to the city and other provinces.
He went on to say that an average of 60,000 tons of horticultural products are produced annually in the orchards of this city, specified: peaches and nectarines, grapes, apples, walnuts, almonds and plums are among the existing orchards in the city that peach orchards And nectarines, grapes and walnuts are equal in terms of surface area.
