Prediction of harvesting 5,871 tons of onions in Shahrekord

This year, 5,871 tons of onions products will be harvested from the lands of Shahrekord city.

Farhad Rafiei, director of Jihad Keshavarzi in Shahrekord, said: the agricultural experts of the province, city and Jihad Keshavarzi center visited the onions planting of this city.

He added: This year, 11 onions growers have cultivated an area equivalent to 103 hectares of lands in this city.

Rafiei added: Onions production in the city is done for two purposes: preparation of seeds or food use, and according to the average yield of 57 tons per hectare, it is predicted that 5,871 tons of crops will be harvested from the city.

He continued: onions cultivation in the city is done as a seedling, which increases yield, uniform cultivation and reduces water consumption.

In the end, Rafiei said: The largest area under onions cultivation belongs to the Surashjan Agricultural Jihad Center with an area equivalent to 57 hectares.
