Production forecast of 13000 tons of walnuts in Kermanshah
Horticulture director of Kermanshah Jihad Agricultural Organization said: Walnut is the most produced horticultural product in this province.
Reza Zarei said: out of a total of 40,871 hectares of gardens in Kermanshah province, 10,635 hectares are walnut orchards.
Zarei announced the area of fertile walnut orchards in Kermanshah province as 8721 hectares and added: Kermanshah province also has another 1914 hectares of walnut orchards that have not yet reached the fertile stage.
Horticulture director of Kermanshah Jihad Agricultural Organization said that the average dry walnut harvest per hectare of walnut orchards in Kermanshah province is 1.5 tons per hectare and said: 13 thousand and 579 tons of walnuts are expected to be produced in this province.
Zarei further stated that Sahneh city has the most walnut orchards in Kermanshah province, and said: this city has 2028 hectares of walnut orchards.
Zarei added: Kangavar and Kermanshah, with walnut orchards at 1293 and 1069 hectares, respectively, are the other cities that have the most walnut orchards in the province.
Zarei estimated the gross income per hectare of walnut orchards at an average of 22 million and 500 thousand tomans and added: each hectare of walnut orchard has a net income of about 15 million tomans for gardeners.

Zarei, stating that walnut harvest from the orchards of Kermanshah province will begin in the third decade of August, said: walnut harvest in the surrounding areas of the province will continue until the end of September.
