Production forecast of 140,000 tons of rice in Fars
The head of the Fars Agricultural Jihad Organization announced the allocation of working capital facilities for wheat fields and said: These facilities have been allocated with the aim of providing part of the planting costs and also supporting the planting of wheat.
Mehrzad Kherad said: the amount of these facilities for irrigated farms is 8 million and rainfed farms is 4 million rials per hectare.
He reminded that in the last crop year, Fars has maintained its position in wheat production, adding: This year, for the twenty-sixth consecutive year, we have won the first place in wheat production in terms of quantity and quality.
Kherad said: Considering this issue and in order to support farmers as much as possible, Fars Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization has redoubled its efforts, including providing and allocating credit and subsidy resources for the production and distribution of the required improved seeds. The province noted.
He pointed out: Continuous follow-ups were done in order to match the guaranteed purchase rate with the cost price of wheat production, which fortunately has increased the purchase rate to 650 Tomans per kilogram and ultimately has encouraged more farmers.
Kherad added: In the current crop year, the exploiters, using the power of experienced experts in supervising the preparation of the suitable planting bed and observing the technical recommendations, have so far planted 171,000 hectares of potential lands with high potential for planting irrigated wheat and up to 33,000 hectares of land in the province have been allocated for dryland wheat planting.
In another part of his speech, the head of Fars Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization stated that it is very important to observe the proper planting date in wheat. Kherad further announced the increase in rice cultivation in the province compared to last year and said: This year, due to favorable rains, the cultivation of rice has reached 40,756 hectares with a 14% growth compared to the previous year.
Kherad added: By taking care measures, proper nutrition and meeting the plant’s nutritional needs during the growing period, the yield per hectare increased by 10 to 20% in the whole province.
He said that the price of rice with a significant increase in the past few months, has made farmers happy, he said: now rice harvest in cities with temperate climates has ended and in subtropical areas is also coming to an end and forecast It is possible to harvest more than 210,000 tons of paddy from rice fields and produce about 140,000 tons of rice.
