Production forecast of 190,000 tons of dates in Khuzestan

Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Khuzestan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: It is predicted that we will have 190,000 tons of date cultivation in the province.

Mohammad Ghasemi Nejad, stating that the area under palm cultivation in the province is 43,000 hectares, of which 10,000 hectares are seedlings and the rest is fertile, added that part of the palm seedlings in Khuzestan have been fertilized this year, which has increased production compared to last year.

He added: According to our expert estimates, the price of each kilogram of dates in Khuzestan should be 2200 Tomans so that its production costs can be provided and compensated.

Ghasemi Nejad clarified: This year, to determine the guaranteed purchase price of dates, we announced the price of 1440 Tomans to the Ministry, which has been notified to the Economic Council, but the final price has not been determined yet.

He said: Due to the early harvest of Khuzestan dates, before announcing the guaranteed purchase rate, we held meetings to determine the agreed date purchase rate. Manufacturers and exporters agreed to set a bargain price based on a guaranteed purchase rate of 10 to 15 percent increase.
