The head of the South Khorasan Agricultural Jihad said: 331 tons of sesame is expected to be harvested from the agricultural lands of South Khorasan this year.

Hashem Valipour Motlagh stated: It is predicted that more than 400 hectares of agricultural lands in South Khorasan in 1392 and 1393 will be under sesame cultivation.

He pointed out that Bashravieh city with 190 hectares and 152 tons of sesame production has the highest area of ​​sesame cultivation, he said: sesame harvest begins in late September and continues until the end of October.

The head of the South Khorasan Agricultural Jihad added: It is predicted that 26 million and 480 thousand Rials will be the income of farmers by harvesting sesame this year.

Valipour Motlagh counted the number of sesame farmers in the province as 1410 and added: Last year, 173 tons of sesame were harvested from agricultural farms in South Khorasan, which sold 12 billion 110 million rials in income to farmers.

He pointed out: Sesame harvested from the agricultural fields of the province is consumed inside the province.
