Production forecast of 90 tons of Rose water in Yazd province

Damask rose cultivation area in Yazd province is more than 67 hectares and it is predicted that farmers will extract 250 tons of Damask rose, about 90 tons of rose water this year.

The director of horticulture of Yazd Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: Damask rose harvest has started in Taft and Mehriz cities and will continue until the end of spring, and after that, the harvested product will go to industrial and traditional units for processing and production of rose water.

Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi added: Damask rose cultivation area in Yazd province is more than 67 hectares and farmers are expected to extract 250 tons of Damask rose, about 90 tons of rose water this year, much of which is used inside the province and in the food industry.

It is noteworthy that the pure rose water of Shirkuh Yazd gardens, in addition to its pleasant aroma, has many medicinal properties, among which we can mention strengthening the nerves and strengthening the gums and eliminating the weakness of the body.
