Production of 11000 tons in Kerman the first rank in sesame production

The director of agriculture of the Jihad Agriculture Organization of the south of Kerman province said: the south of the province is the first in the country with the production of 11,500 tons of sesame.

Jalali, pointing out that every year more than 9,000 hectares of agricultural lands in the south of Kerman province are cultivated with sesame, added: with the end of the harvest of grains and vegetables and summer crops, sesame is cultivated in these fields.

He stated that the only problem of sesame growers in the south of Kerman province was the lack of processing industries and announced: these products are sent to Yazd, Isfahan and Tehran provinces for processing.

Sesame is cultivated from the first half of summer and harvested in late summer.
