Production of 13% of the country’s dates in Fars
Ahad Fotouhi stated: Annually, about 150,000 tons of dates are produced from 33,000 hectares of groves in Fars province, and 30% of the grove products in this province are marketed in the form of rotb.
He pointed out that the cities of Jahrom, Kazerun, Khanj, Qirokarzin, Mehr, Lamerd, Farashband, Firoozabad, Darab, Zarrin Dasht and Larestan are date producers in Fars province, he noted: It also implements support programs in market development sectors.
The official said: about 10% of Persian dates are exported to the countries of the Persian Gulf, India and Pakistan, and in this regard, increasing exports and promoting activities in this area is one of the most important programs of this cluster.
The CEO of Fars Industrial Towns Company added: Issuance of exploitation licenses for 38 date processing units with employment of 500 people by the organizations of industry, mining and trade and agricultural jihad, as well as providing more than 80% of the raw materials of these units within a radius of 100 km from other The company’s approach is industrial estates.
He added: After the clusters of roses and herbal essences of Meymand Fars, Sang Shomal, tomato paste, pickles and handmade carpets of Fars, this is the fifth business cluster in Fars province that is implemented by this company.
Fotouhi continued: The feasibility study plan for date clusters in the south of Fars was approved by the Small Industries and Industrial Towns Organization of Iran after conducting expert steps, and this organization has issued a permit to create date clusters.
He stated: Fars province has appropriate capacities in the field of production and processing of dates and the importance of this province as one of the important centers of production of this product caused the creation of date clusters to be on the agenda of Fars Industrial Towns Company.
The CEO of Fars Industrial Towns Company added: Southern Date Cluster has implemented various programs in the field of improving the level of processing and packaging, as well as support programs in the market development sectors.
Fotouhi stated: The existence of the province’s capacities in the field of date production and processing and the importance of Fars as one of the important poles in this product has caused the creation of the southern date cluster as the fifth business cluster of Fars province to be on the agenda of Fars Industrial Towns Company.
He pointed out: with the selection of the factor for the development of the activity of this cluster, it has entered the executive stage since the summer of last year.
