Production of 382 kg of farmed caviar in Mazandaran
Director General of Mazandaran Fisheries announced the production of 382 kg of farmed caviar in the province.
Hassan Habibnejad stated: Due to the ban on the trade of Caspian caviar due to the severe reduction of natural stocks of this fish, sturgeon fishing is done only to provide breeding centers for reproduction and reconstruction of stocks and the possibility of semi-artificial reproduction.
He continued: Our strategy to catch sturgeon is a protective and supportive view in order to provide breeders.
Director General of Mazandaran Fisheries stated: Sturgeon farming to produce farmed caviar can reduce the pressure of fishing on natural resources and provide the amount of meat and caviar needed in the country and even global markets through exports, while employment with It seeks to earn foreign exchange earnings, more importantly, the position and reputation of Iranian sturgeon in global markets will be maintained.
Habibnejad pointed out: In order to raise sturgeon, very successful projects have been implemented in recent years and valuable results have been achieved.
He stated: with the extraction of 16 kg of caviar, 382 kg of farmed caviar has been produced and exported to European countries.
