Dr. Seyed Afshin Safavi said: At present, the area under grape cultivation in Kermanshah province is 9,400 hectares, of which about 8,020 hectares are irrigated and 1,380 hectares.

He mentioned Asgari, Yaghouti, Kashmari, Thomson, Fakhri, Rasheh, etc. cultivars among the grape cultivars of Kermanshah province.

Safavid considered the average yield of rainfed gardens in the province to be four tons per hectare and stated: this figure reaches 9 tons per hectare in the case of irrigated gardens.

He added: The highest amount of grapes is produced in Sahneh, Sarpol-e-Zahab, Dalahu, Harsin and Paveh counties.

Safavi said: most of the grapes produced are consumed in acetate and the rest are exported to neighboring provinces.

Safavi, pointing out that the largest amount of grapes is consumed as fresh food and juice, said: Some of the produced grapes are also processed in the form of raisins and raisins.
