Production of 90% of Iranian tea in Gilan
The head of the country’s tea organization said: It is predicted that due to the weather conditions in China, more green tea leaves will be harvested this year than last year.
Habib Jahansaz, pointing out that the third harvest of green tea leaves has started in the gardens of Gilan and Mazandaran, said: Gilan and Mazandaran tea growers hope to harvest about 18,000 tons of green leaves if the weather conditions are suitable at this stage.
He added: It is predicted that due to the weather conditions in China, more green tea leaves will be harvested this year than last year.
Jahansaz continued: The third China of green tea leaves from the gardens of Gilan and Mazandaran continues until October.
He specified: So far, tea growers have harvested 78,000 tons of green tea leaves worth about 164 billion tomans, of which 48% were first grade and the rest 52 were second grade.
Regarding the claims of tea growers, the head of the country’s tea organization also said: Recently, the amount of 1 billion and 360 million Tomans of the claims has been transferred to the tea growers’ accounts. So far, 112 billion and 345 million tomans of claims have been paid.
He pointed out: 150 tea factories in Gilan and Mazandaran also produced 14,500 tons of dry tea this year.
Jahansaz added that the sale of dry tea market is good and we hope that its sales situation will improve: Healthy Iranian tea is organic and people should consume domestic tea to promote their health and that of their families.
He said: 90% of Iranian tea is produced in Gilan. Gunpowder, premium, broken, pen and broken pen are some of the types of dry tea produced in tea factories in northern Iran.
It is worth mentioning that tea growers in the north of the country harvest green leaves in three stages of spring, summer and autumn. Gilan and Mazandaran have 55,000 households and 25,000 hectares of tea gardens. 90% of the country’s tea is produced in Gilan. The country’s tea organization is located in Lahijan.
