Production of more than 14000 tons of walnuts in Lorestan
Horticulture director of Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization announced the production of more than 14 thousand tons of walnuts in the province.
Alireza Ahmadvandi stated: The area under walnut cultivation in the province was 11 thousand 838 hectares, of which 5338 hectares are seedlings and 6500 hectares are fruitful.
He stated: It is predicted that 14,435 tons of walnuts will be harvested from this area.
Ahmadvandi stated that the average yield of the province is 2220 kg per hectare and said: Lorestan is in the third place in terms of the level of gardens compared to other provinces and production is in the fifth place.
Horticulture director of Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization considered the highest area of cultivation in the province to be related to Boroujerd city and added: this area is about 2523 hectares and the yield is 1866 kg per hectare.
He continued by stating that the dynasty after Boroujerd has the highest level of walnut planting in the province, while the yield of orchards in the city in the province is higher than other areas and is about 3104 kg per hectare. Therefore, the dynasty has the largest share in terms of walnut production.
According to Ahmadvandi, Khorramabad city with a level of 2093 hectares and a yield of 2179 kg per hectare is the third in the province and its production is 2842 tons.
