The head of the South Khorasan Agricultural Jihad Organization announced the forecast of producing 258 tons of sesame products from the province’s farms.

Haderbadi said: the amount of sesame production last year was 220 tons.

He added: Sesame harvest begins in late September and continues until the end of October.

Haderbadi said: sesame harvest has increased by 20% compared to last year due to the annexation of Tabas city.

According to the head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Khorasan, the area under sesame cultivation last year was 382 hectares and this year, due to the annexation of Tabas city, it is expected to reach 453 hectares.

He added: Among the problems involved in the production of sesame product, we can mention the delay in harvest and fall of the product due to the lack of special machines for sesame harvest in the province.
