Production of more than half a ton of farmed caviar
The head of the Fisheries Organization of Iran announced: since the beginning of the year, more than half a ton of farmed caviar has been produced, about half of which has been exported to world markets at a price of six million tomans per kilogram.
Gholamreza Razeghi – Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture, referring to the production of 100 kg of farmed caviar last year, said: By the end of the year, the production of this product will definitely reach one ton.
According to him, considering that caviar is an export product, its domestic market price is also a function of export prices and global markets.
The head of the Iranian Fisheries Organization stated: Due to the ban on fishing for sea caviar, the price of farmed caviar has increased and this product is sold at an average of six million tomans per kilogram in world markets.
Referring to the confirmation of Iranian caviar exports in the EU list, Razeghi said: The highest amount of caviar is exported to European countries and the United Arab Emirates.
The Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture stated: The reasonable price of farmed caviar and its position in the world markets has increased investment in sturgeon breeding and this year the volume of investment in this sector has increased significantly compared to previous years.
The head of the Iranian Fisheries Organization added: Unlike previous years, when there was not much interest in sturgeon farming, now both sturgeon meat and sturgeon are welcomed.
Referring to the opportunities created for investment in the field of sturgeon breeding, Razeghi said: By providing facilities, we support investors in the field of sturgeon.
