Qashqai tribe is the largest tribe in Fars and even Iran whose history dates back to the Persian land several centuries ago. According to historical evidence various tribes of this tribe have migrated from the western parts of the Caspian Sea as well as its eastern regions.
Carpet weaving is an art and tradition that is common among girls and women in the tribe, whose hand weaving is known as the Shirazi Turkish rugs, which are mostly woven for personal use or as a dowry. They may have been less traded.
The designs of bergamot, beetle, poultry, roses and altar that are favored by the lords of this tribe are all woven into geometric styles and broken branches. Its old carpets are influenced by the designs of the Caucasus, especially the Shirvan region.
One of the hallmarks of distinguishing the old bathe of this tribe from the Caucasian carpets is that the brown Qashqai carpets are black, while the Caucasian textures have lighter strands.
