Rice harvest from 38,000 hectares of paddy fields in Gilan
Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization Deputy for Plant Production Improvement said: So far, rice has been harvested from 38,000 hectares of paddy fields in the province.
Habib Jahansaz announced the harvest of 38,000 hectares of golden rice stalks in the paddy fields of Gilan and said: This year, rice has a very good quality.
He pointed out that the favorable climate of daytime heat and cold at night has prevented rice from being crushed, adding: Rice production will increase this year and the percentage of rice breakage is expected to decrease.
Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization Deputy for Plant Production Improvement continued: 90% of rice in Gilan Hashemi province and only 10% of rice are high yielding cultivars.
Regarding the cultivation of Gohar cultivar in the province, Jahansaz pointed out that the growth period of this cultivar is long: Therefore, Gilani farmers were not very welcome to cultivate this cultivar.
According to the ISNA news group, Ghorbani, a member of the Guilan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, said: Although the rice harvest has not yet reached its peak, but the process of reducing prices has begun.
He reminded: the price of rice started from 10,500 tomans to 9,300 tomans and is expected to decrease to 8,500 tomans.
