Rose water export from Fars to Japan
60 tons of Rose water worth approximately 6 billion was exported to Japan from Darab Fars this year.
Ghasemi, director of Fars Agricultural Jihad, said: Darab city, with 5520 hectares of Damask rose, has the highest area under cultivation of this crop in the country.
He added: the organic nature of Darab flowers has caused the attention of different countries to receive this product.
The best production centers of Damask rose in Darab are Laizengan, Navayegan, Morvarid and Shokrouyeh villages.
Harvesting Damask rose in Darab continues from early May to mid-June.
80% of the flowers harvested are dried, buds and petals and the rest are used fresh.
There are 5 industrial rose water factories and 20 traditional factories in the city.
