Rudsar is the first hazelnut producer in Iran
The head of Rudsar agricultural jihad said: the hazelnut harvest in Gilan will continue until the middle of September.
Ehsanullah Mushtaq announced this news: the new hazelnut harvesting of two skins has started in Eshkorat area of ??Rahimabad Rudsar, while the area under cultivation of hazelnut orchards in Rudsar city is over 12 thousand hectares.
He added: 8,000 families started harvesting hazelnuts in the city and 10,000 tons of hazelnuts are harvested annually.
Mushtaq stated that the hazelnut harvest in Gilan will continue until mid-September, noting that the price of each kilo of hazelnuts with skin is 4,500 Tomans and without skin is 8,000 Tomans.
He said: Agricultural Jihad has considered the necessary measures to improve the gardens.
He stated that Rudsar city has the first place in the production of hazelnuts in the country, and specified: There is a hazelnut breaking, packing and drying factory in Rahim Abad region.
Hazelnut product is produced in more than 100 types of food and cosmetics in developed countries, but most of the hazelnuts produced in Gilan are consumed in the form of nuts.
