The director of Khorasan Rural Cooperative, Razavi, said: The price of saffron will increase, so farmers should not rush and offer as much as they need in the market or in the support market. Keep saffron, because the price of saffron is currently higher than what is offered in the market.
Regarding the support purchase of saffron, Iraj Naseri Moghaddam stated: Support purchase means the entry of government organizations into the market to stabilize prices so that the farmer does not lose. Rural Cooperatives and Agricultural Jihad prevented the price reduction with their arrival, and now the price of saffron in the market is almost equal to the support purchase price.
Regarding the difference between this type of purchase and guaranteed purchase, he said: Guaranteed purchase is different from support purchase and saffron is always purchased as a support purchase. In a guaranteed purchase, all the products in the market are bought, but the supportive purchase is only to create balance in the market and there is no targeting such as a guaranteed purchase. We have now achieved our goal of balancing the market in supportive buying.
The director of Khorasan Rural Cooperative, Razavi, added: In supportive purchases, 10% of the products available in the market may be purchased in one year and no purchases will be made in another year. For example, in the field of raisins in North Khorasan, without buying only upon arrival, the price increased from 1500 Tomans to 4500 Tomans.
Regarding the statistics of saffron purchased so far, Naseri said: Supportive purchase of saffron has started from November 2, 2020 and will continue until December 20, and this purchase will be done in 10 centers, of which about 4 tons and 900 kg have been purchased so far.
