He continued: Sanghar and Keliai handmade carpets were among the carpets of 13 other regions of the country, including Ardakan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, North Khorasan, Turkmen Jirgalan and Bojnourd, Qashqai Fars, Gabbeh Fars, etc. and were registered globally.

The head of the Kermanshah Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, referring to the announcement of the National Carpet Center to the province in 1993, said: At that time, the Kermanshah Industry, Mining and Trade Organization announced its readiness to register Sanghar and Keliai handmade carpets. The necessary documents were collected and sent to the National Carpet Center and were approved by the National Carpet Center with continuous follow-up.

According to Haghighi, in the next stage, the National Carpet Center, in cooperation with the experts of the Provincial Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, proceeded to count and collect geographical and historical documents and pay the necessary expenses to WIPO Company (a UN subsidiary based in Switzerland). The documents were approved by 23 member states and there were no protests.

He further considered Sanghar and Kelia carpet as one of the reputable carpet brands in the country.

Haghighi stated that in this regard, the Sanghar Rural Hand-woven Carpet Cooperative Company, with the aim of expanding the market and having a permanent presence in international and especially European markets, established a permanent office and exhibition of Cologne German hand-woven carpets, adding: The carpet is in progress.

He expressed hope that the global registration of Sanghar carpet will have a greater impact on sales and marketing of this product, especially in global markets, and finally we will see the prosperity of the province’s carpet industry and the activity of more people in this sector.
