Sirjan kilim was exported under the Turkish brand
Fakhriullah Tavakoli stated this morning at the conference of the Export Association of the Kerman Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture and the commercial group of Erbil province of Iraq: Kerman is one of the provinces capable of producing handmade carpets.
He stated that the first carpet exported from Iran was exported from Kerman province, and specified: in recent years, the province’s carpet has faced a recession for various reasons.
The head of the Kerman Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture’s carpet and handicrafts commission stated: “We have been successful in Sirjan kilim and 17,000 kilim weavers are active in Sirjan.”
Saying that 60,000 square meters of kilims are produced in Sirjan, Allah Tavakoli added: “Sirjan kilims are exported under the Turkish brand and we hope to be able to export this kilim with Sirjan brand and code with the follow-ups done.”
