This plant reduces blood pressure, cools the body, dilutes or purifies the blood, controls blood cholesterol, liver disorders, bile and also relaxes, which is also one of the rich sources of iron needed by the body.

Ghanbarpour continued: The presence of large amounts of anthocyanins in the sepals of the plant has an important role in reducing blood pressure and its anti-cancer properties. This product is used in some cultures of different nations such as China, Mexico and even Europe.

He called China and Thailand the largest producers of sour tea and said: Africa and the Indian subcontinent are also in the next ranks, but there are no accurate reports and statistics on the area under cultivation.

This researcher reminded: in Iran, sour tea is cultivated in Sistan and Baluchestan and the cities of Iranshahr, Nikshahr, Khash and Delgan.

Ghanbarpour stated: This medicinal plant can play an effective role in creating employment and economic development of Lorestan and according to the environmental conditions of its growth can be cultivated in the central south and southwest of the province such as Chegni, Visian, Poldakhtar, Kuhdasht and Romeshkan.
