The Deputy of Planning and Employment of South Khorasan Governorate, considering that the carpets produced in the province are popular in the world markets, said: Due to the numerous droughts and the problems of agriculture and animal husbandry in the region, employment in producing handmade carpets is more considered by villagers.
Emphasizing the need to identify people active in the carpet industry and the need to use their opinions in related meetings, he called on the members of the meeting to present their proposals in order to choose a solution to advance the goals of the carpet working group and support the development of handmade carpet industry in the province. Rezaei continued: the relevant devices should pay special attention to monitoring the improvement of the quality level of production and raw materials through the creation of networks of carpet supervisors, in a coherent manner and through codified plans and programs.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to form a provincial carpet working group under the auspices of the General Directorate of Industry, Mining and Commerce of the province, chaired by the provincial deputy for planning and employment, and to identify active and expert people in the carpet industry and become members of the working group.
