The head of the Birjand Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, referring to the production of 22,000 tons of barberry in South Khorasan last year, said: Of this amount, we had only 425 tons of exports, which is a very small figure.

He continued: Birjand Chamber of Commerce for the past 12 years has taken measures including preparing a comprehensive plan for the production of barberry and preparing a catalog to introduce this product in a foreign language, but this is not enough and requires the entry of trustees.

The head of the Birjand Chamber of Commerce stated: If the training of farmers is not taken seriously, saffron growers and barberry growers will face a major obstacle to entering the European market.

Ehtesham reminded of the approval of the formation of the barberry consortium, reminded: In this consortium, we plan to enter the market and marketing of barberry product to solve some of the problems of farmers in introducing barberry and exporting it.
