Stagnation in the production of handmade carpets in Kerman
The head of the Carpet and Handicrafts Commission of the Kerman Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, noting that in recent years the carpet of Kerman province has faced a recession for various reasons, added: We have succeeded in producing Sirjan kilims and 17,000 kilim weavers in Sirjan Are active.
Fakhriullah Tavakoli in the joint meeting of the Export and Civil Engineering Commission of the Kerman Province Chamber with the Erbil Erbil Business Board stated: Kerman is one of the provinces capable of producing handmade carpets and the first carpet exported from Iran was exported from Kerman province.
He pointed out that in recent years, carpets in Kerman province have faced a recession for various reasons, adding: We have been successful in producing Sirjan kilims and 17,000 kilim weavers are active in Sirjan.
Allah Tavakoli stated: 60,000 square meters of kilims are produced annually, and Sirjan kilims are exported under the Turkish brand, and we hope to be able to export this kilim under the Sirjan brand and code with the follow-ups.
In this meeting, Mohsen Mostafaei, director general of Kerman province customs, said: Kerman province has many capacities in terms of God-given resources, science, etc. that no province has.
He added: in the first eight months of this year, 24 billion and 605 million dollars of goods were exported from the country, of which 3 billion and 870 million dollars were exported to Iraq, and of this amount, a large amount was from Kerman province.
Mostafaei stated: Pistachios, cement, electronic panels, rubber, fats and vegetable oils, dairy products, carpets, dates, sugar, etc. are among the goods exported from Kerman province.
He said: there is a possibility of more communication between neighboring countries and Kerman province and the distance does not affect the price of products, especially weaving products, but the quality of products is high and investment in this field is cost-effective.
