The head of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of South Khorasan, stating that the supportive purchase of red gold from farmers in South Khorasan began today, said: In order to support saffron farmers in South Khorasan, the supportive purchase of saffron has started in the province and will continue until December 20th.

He said that four shopping centers in the cities of Birjand, Ghaen, Sarayan and Ferdows are planned, adding: Saffron is purchased from saffron growers in two ways.

The head of the South Khorasan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: The first method is the commodity exchange method, in which saffron is delivered to the stock exchange warehouses by introducing the Jihad-e-Keshavarzi managements and can be offered through the saffron exchange symbols.

Qousi considered the second method of buying saffron as a physical purchase method and added: In this method, farmers refer to rural cooperative shopping centers and introduce saffron to shopping centers by introducing Jihad Keshavarzi, and experts check the appearance of saffron and 30% of the price. Saffron is paid to the farmer in cash.

He pointed out that the remaining 70% can be paid within three months after the announcement of laboratory results, he specified: the priority of supporting saffron purchase with saffron farmers is the work of the province and the ceiling of saffron purchase from each farmer is set at 10 kg.

The head of the South Khorasan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization reminded: it has been proposed to extend the deadline for buying saffron until January 20, 2020.
