Sturgeon farming for the first time in Kerman province
For the first time, a pilot project for sturgeon breeding was implemented in Kerman province in Rafsanjan.
The director of fisheries and aquaculture affairs of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Kerman province announced the beginning of this project in the Nogh area of Rafsanjan with 680 young sturgeon in four breeding ponds.
Ebrahimi, stating that at the end of each one-year period, about 80 grams of caviar can be harvested from each month, added: In this pilot project, caviar will be harvested in the next four years.
He said: If this project is successful, sturgeon farming will be carried out in Bam and Ravar cities.
