Talesh is the second largest producer of sturgeon in Iran
The director general of fisheries of Gilan province said: Talesh is the second producer of sturgeon in the country and the first producer in Gilan province.

He continued: In the not too distant future, up to 350 tons of sturgeon were caught by fishermen off the Caspian Sea, which unfortunately has decreased to nearly two tons.
He mentioned the extraction of sturgeon from fish farms as a support for the shortage in this sector and added: Last year, about 1.5 tons of farmed caviar was extracted in Gilan province, of which 90% was exported abroad.
Shabani also mentioned Talesh city as a major hub for sturgeon production in Gilan province and noted: the coasts of this city have the best conditions for natural sturgeon farming with the benefit of the saline water of the Caspian Sea, which should be properly met. Let’s benefit.
He pointed out that in recent years, Mazandaran has surpassed Gilan province in the field of production, and explained: After exploiting the sturgeon breeding town in Talesh House and by increasing the production and sturgeon farms in this city, we can Let’s return to our main position in this area.
The director general of Gilan Fisheries asked for the support of provincial officials in this regard and said: Talesh sturgeon production town is 14 hectares, of which 5 hectares will be built in the first phase with a capital of 200 billion rials and a production capacity of 250 tons of sturgeon meat and 5 tons of caviar were also hit the ground.
In the end, he added: Elimination of deprivation from Talesh sermon area and increase of production and employment are the most important goals of the construction of this town.
