Tea organization forecasts harvest of 130,000 tons of green leaves

Habib Jahansaz added about the latest situation of guaranteed purchase of green tea leaves: According to the latest statistics from the beginning of the harvest season, 103,395 tons of green tea leaves worth over 400 billion Tomans have been purchased from tea growers in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces.

Payment of 85% of tea growers’ claims
The head of the Tea Organization of the North of the country announced the payment of 85% of the claims of tea growers and specified: this year, including the payment of five billion Tomans which has been done recently, 340 billion Tomans of the claims of tea growers will be paid and the rest will be transferred to their accounts.

Jahansaz said: 58,702 tons, equivalent to 56 percent of the price of purchased green leaves, is first-class, and 45,332 tons, equivalent to 44 percent, is second-class.

Extraction of more than 23 thousand tons of dry tea
He said: the production of 23,260 tons of dry tea has been done and with the delay in harvesting green tea leaves compared to the previous year and the presence of dry weather in summer, production has increased by one percent compared to the previous year, although in the spring arrangement 15 Percentage was higher than last year.
